    All of the subjects that I cover during classes are tailor-made, they are designed specifically for the needs of your groups/departments. They are a combination of general English and specialized vocabulary that the staff needs for the situations they would most likely encounter at the Hotel or Resort.

     

    Here is a short list of subjects that I teach.  Please note that there are not only English subjects there also are Customer Service topics.

     

     Hellos and Good-byes

    The 'How are you?" questions

    When you do not understand

    The World around Us

    Handling guest small problems 

    The Yes and No Problem 

    Making them feel important

    In the restaurant

    Talking about Transportation 

    Hotel facilities/services

    Suggesting places to visit

    The complete list is huge and all of them are things that I have already taught during the past four years.

    All of the classes are designed to improve the level of English of the non-native English speaking associates and the results will be seen in the improved customer service and care given by the staff.

     

    I am able to teach English to various departments such as:

    Housekeeping

    Bar and Lounge

    Sports

    Bellboys

    Gardeners

    Maintenance

    Laundry

     

    The only areas I don't usually teach are Accounting and Sales.

    55 Questions you must Know:

    This is a list of tailored questions that every staff member should be able to answer. Questions like:

     

    • Who are the owners of this Resort?
    • How do I know that the beach is safe for swimming?
    • When did the resort open?
    • What is the General Manager's name and what Nationality is he?
    • How big is this resort?
    • Is the tab water clean and drinkable in this hotel?
    • Where do I get information about Phan Thiet?
    • How many restaurants and bars does this resort have?
    • and many more ...

     

     

    I also use the Restaurant Menu, Bar/Lounge Beverage drink list, SOPs, Fact Sheets and Hotel brochures to create English lessons.

     

    I wrote a paper on "Teaching here in Vietnam" Click 5 Star Teaching in Vietnam to read the PDF file.

     

    I created a student database to keep records for each student that attends English classes. 

     

 

I must tell you that at times teaching English Pronunciation can be a little difficult as seen in this short film clip.
